Sewn Together DT Challenge #6

Hi Everyone

Well it's time for the next Sew Many Cards Sewn Together DT Challenge, can you believe we are at #6 already - it seems to me like just last week we were doing the first one!

Our challenge this week was to make a Stair Step card - we can do any colours and images but it had to be that technique of card. So here is mine example

For my card I decided I would do a Christmas card and help get all those done a bit more, I chose to use two of the Sew Many Cards images - one of which was a new release yesterday. The images I chose are called Tayla, Miki & Jaden Christmas carols and Tayla reindeer - they are just so cute! As I think I've mentioned before Tayla is my favourite character but I do love Jaden too so when I saw the new Carollers I knew I had to use it! I coloured both images with my copic markers and picked some papers from a Deicuts woth a View Christmas stack for the background. To finish the card I made some poinsettia's from a Quickutz die, cut the Noel from with the Girls are Weird Sizzlets Alpha set and added some organza ribbon from my stash.
Here I've tried to flatted the front two steps down a bit so you can get a bit of a better look at our carollers.

For this picture I turned the card to the side so that you can see the steps a bit more. To make my card I cut a piece of card stock to 12" x 5" and scored it at 1",2",4",6" and 9" and them did mountain, valley, mountain, valley and mountain folds which then gives you your base card ready to decorate.

So I hope you like it! Now it's your turn to try, you can find all the details for the challenge on the Sew Many Cards blog and this is also where you will need to link your creations - Angela will be offering a prize to someone. If you need more inspiration then you can visit my fab team mates to see what they decided to do, please also leave them a comment - they are great creators and deserve all the praise they can get.

Well that's it from me - 'speak' to you again soon

Dancing Bear

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, I don't know what it's like for the rest of the world but boy can you tell it's autumn down here on the UK south coast. It suddenly went from lovely warm to brrr overnight! How does it do that!

As I announced a few days ago I've been given the huge honour of becoming the DT Co-ordinator for a new digi stamp and sticker company called Robyns Fetish As soon as I saw the images that Robyn sells I just had to apply for the design team and I was amazed, stunned, excited and overwhelmed when I was asked to be more than just a DT member! I have to say a HUGE thanks to Robyn for putting her faith in me the way she has. So as I'm now a part of Robyn's Fetish I thought I would use some of the digi stamps from there for my cards today - that was easier said than done! It took me two hours to decided exactly which of the adorable images I wanted to use, after all I didn't have time to use everyone of them and it would have been a extremely long post!

So here are the two cards I ended up making
This first card uses the really cute Dancing Angel Bear digi stamp. I coloured her with - can you guess!! yes my copic markers! For the backing papers I decided it was time to go through my scraps bag and see if I could use some of those up and I found these matching papers from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad in there. To finish off my card I punched the edge of the pink paper with a woodware border punch and added some ric rac and rhinestones from my stash
Here is a closer look at the ever so cute Dancing Angel Bear

For this card I chose one of the lovely little girls that Robyn has for sale - she is called Cutie Pie! As is becoming the norm for me lately I coloured her with my copics and continued by scraps rummage for the backing papers - to my surprise I found these Diecuts with a View papers from the Glitter Stack in there. To finish the card I used another woodware border punch, metal phrase from making memories and added some grosgrain ribbon and rhinestones from my stash

Here is the close up of Cutie Pie!

So am I right? Aren't they just so adorable! If, like me you have to have them then Robyn is currently selling the digi stamps at 22% off because the store doesn't officially open until 10Th October - which of course will mean a PARTY!!!! So why not take advantage of the offer and get you digi's now. We do also have a challenge running on the new Robyns Fetish Challenge Blog where you could win an image and there are a couple of freebie images over there too.

Anyway that's it from me for today, I'll be back with more as soon as I can.

Sewn Together DT Challenge #5

Hi Everyone

Sorry this challenge post is late today - I had scheduled it to post at 10am this morning but something must have happened cause I can't even find the post!

So it is time again for the Sew Many Cards weekly challenge. The design team was challenged this week to make a card/project that uses one of the cute donkey digi stamps. I really enjoyed the challenge this week.

For my card I chose to use the donkey hiding behind a cactus - he looks so sweet! I decided to go back to one of my first loves and use my distress inks etc from Ranger/Tim Holtz for this project and 'shabby' up my background papers. As usual I coloured my donkey with my copic markers and chose papers from a Papermania pad called Spring Burst. I found some chipboard letters in my craft stuff that were the same colour as my papers but they kind of blended into the background so I sanded the edges and use Vintage Photo distress ink on them. To finish the card I used a border punch from woodware and added some satin ribbon and buttons from my stash.
Here is a closer look at this little cutie!

So now you have see my take on the challenge please visit my team mates to see what they came up with and of course we want to see your challenge projects too, just visit the Sew Many Cards blog for all the details. I can't wait to see your ideas!

Carl the Clown - KLM Designs

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all keeping well, thankfully I'm finally starting to feel human again - my girls say I've been like a bear with a sore head for the last few weeks! well my head was sore! so what did they expect!

Today I have been playing with one of the fab images from KLM Designs they are just so cute!

This is Carl the Clown - I just adore him and had to buy him as soon as I saw him! I coloured him with my copic markers (surprise, surprise!) and decided that he needed really bright. colourful papers for behind him, so I used some Diecuts with a View papers from their Block Prints Stack. To finish him off I punched either side of his cardstock mat with one of my punches that I've had for years (sorry I can't remember the make) and added some satin ribbon and buttons from my stash (the yellow one is coloured with my copics because it was too light)

Here is a closer look at Carl.

KLM Designs will be releasing some new designs on the 1st October, so myself and my DT team-mates will be showing you some sneak peeks starting a week before their launch, please come back and check them out and also visit my extremely talents team-mates blogs too - they are in my sidebar (I've already seen some of their work and they are amazing!)

Anyway I'll 'speak' to you all again soon.

Whiff of Joy Guest Design Team Call

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all having a wonderfully relaxing weekend, I have all day to craft as my in-laws have taken my girls out for the day - bliss. Today I have three cards for you all made using stamps from Whiff of Joy , I adore their stamps, they are so cute, the prices they charge are fab and the print quality is brilliant - what more could you ask for.

The cards I made today I have decided to use as my application to be a Guest Design Team member of Whiff of Joy - being able to work for them would be a dream come true, as I said I love their stamps and it would be like Christmas come early to have the chance to design for them.

My first card uses one of the new Fall stamps designed by Elisabeth Bell - she is an amazing artist, I chose to use one of the stamps of Willow called Fall Willow catching leaves, I think she is so beautiful and I decided that I had to use my copics to colour her. I have used some papers from a Diecuts with a View Floral stack for the card and finished it off with some flowers and rhinestones from my stash. As she is a fall stamp I chose to use the yellows & oranges but I liked it combined with the blue just to add something a bit different.

Here is a closer look at Willow - isn't she adorable!

For this card I had to use one of the stamps from the Charlotte & Charlie Medieval collection designed by Alison Acton because they are my daughters favourite WOJ stamps, the one I chose to use is called Maid Charlotte - she looks like she is having a wonderful day. Once again I had to colour her with my copic markers! (sorry I know I said I would try to use other methods but I'm addicted to them!) For my backing papers I used some from the Blueberry Hill collection produced by Papermania which is distributed by D0-crafts here in the UK, to finish the card I used some paper flowers from Kaisercrafts with some rhinestones from my stash and added a ribbon from my ribbon collection

Here is a closer look at Charlotte - she is so cute!

For my final card I went back to the designs of Elisabeth Bell for my stamp, I love all the Willow stamps she designs, this particular one is from the Summer 2009 collection and is called Willow with Strawberry Basket. I coloured her with my copic markers and chose to use some more papers from the Diecuts with a View Floral stack. I finished the card with some grosgrain ribbon from the Dovecraft Smirk collection, some prima flowers and pale green faux pearls from my stash.

Here is a closer look at Willow - I adore her.

If, like me, you would like to be considered for the Guest position at Whiff of Joy then the deadline is actually today but you can find the details at Katharina's Blog . I have everything crossed that I am lucky enough to be chosen but I know the competition will be very high. If you would like to have some of these little cuties at your house then you can find them on the Whiff of Joy website.

Well that's it for this post as I know the girls will be home in 15 minutes. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Doing another happy dance!

Hi Everyone

Oh my goodness! I've been asked to be a member of the Prickley Pear Design Team! I am so excited and feel so honoured to be asked to be on their team - more excuses to craft! yippee! I would also like to congratulate all the other new team members - I cannot wait to get to know you all. As soon as I have all of my new team mates blog addresses I will add them to my side bar so that you can visit them too.

I only have the one card for you today as I've been too busy celebrating.

This card uses one of the Flower Fairy stamps produced in the UK by Personal Impressions, her name is Rose Fairy. I decided that for a change I would colour her with watercolours (yes I know no copics - I'm trying to be good and use some of my other mediums but how long that will last I don't know) and I also stamped the image with Versamark and embossed her with detail silver embossing powder. To add some dimension to her I punched out some small leaves from vellum and used them to make her skirt and a small daisy from yellow paper for her skirt top. I finished the card by using the same vellum for the backing paper and added some gold liquid pearls to the top of her dress.

Here is a closer look at Rose - I think she is so beautiful.

Well that's it for this post as I just wanted to give you my good news, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards that are sat waiting to be assembled.

Thank you to everyone for all the kind get well wishes - I think they may have started working, I really appreciate them.

Sewn Together DT Challenge #4

Hi Everyone,

Is it me or is the time just flying by these days, it doesn't feel like a week ago that I was bringing you the Sewn Together DT Challenge #3 and now here we are with #4! I apologise for my absence this past week or so but the cold I had doesn't really want to go away and I'm not sleeping much so the idea of crafting hasn't been appealing, but I think (fingers crossed!) that I might be starting to feel a bit better so I will try and post more this week.

Anyway back to the challenge for this week for Sew Many Cards Angela asked us to make a card using a sketch, we could use any image and any colours but we had to use the sketch provided - So here is the card I came up with

I chose to use this cute little image of Zee curled up on the moon with his little bear, straight away it said baby to me so that was what I decided I would do. I coloured Zee with my Copic Ciao markers trying to keep the colours as soft as possible, this is the second image of him that I coloured as the first one I did Zee with black markings as usual for a Zebra but for some reason it looked too much on the card so I re-printed him and changed his stripes to pink. For my card and backing papers I used a pad from Making Memories Kids Collection called Bella - I adore these pads because you get plain colours of card as well as patterned. To finish the card I stamped the greeting with Versafine using a stamp from the Baby Arrivals set by Clear Choice Stamps and added some baby buttons from my stash

Here is a closer look at Zee having some peaceful time with his little friend.

I really enjoyed this weeks challenge using a sketch, I do make my own sketches at home but I've never tried any of the sketch challenges on the Internet before but I think this might make me give them a go in the future. So now that you have seen my card from this challenge why not give the challenge a go for yourself, you can find all the details on the Sew Many Cards Blog and someone will be lucky enough to win a prize! If you need more inspiration then please visit my DT team-mates (their blog links are in my sidebar) and see how they used the sketch, I can promise you they will be worth the visit. Finally if you would like any of these cute little characters to join you at home then you can find a link to them on the Sew Many Cards Blog along with the link to the Freebie Friday image.

Well that's it for this post, 'speak' to you again soon

Sewn Together DT Challenge #3

Hi Everyone

I'm really feeling terrible that I'm kind of neglecting my blog but I feel so rough at the moment. I promise as soon as I start to feel a bit better I'll get back to posting properly, at least now the girls are back at school it's a bit quieter during the day so hopefully some rest will see me right.

Well it's that time of the week again, time for the next Sewn Together Challenge , this week is a Themed Challenge to make a Christmas card using any image and any colour. So this is what I decided on

For my card I wanted to use colours that are not usually associated with Christmas and I also really wanted to use the super cute image of Miki with Candy Cane, so I decided that I would colour him in pinks and greys (with a little bit of other colour for contrast). I used my Copic markers to colour in Miki and then decided to use some papers from the Diecuts with a View Rose Tinted Christmas - Christmas Multi Stack for the card as they were the exact colours I was using and also had a Candy Cane just like Miki did. To accent the card I added some grosgrain ribbon from the Dovecraft Smirk range and some sticky-back rhinestones (I didn't have any black ones so I coloured a silver one with my black copic marker), finally to finish the card I added a stamped greeting from a clear stamp set by Hot off the Press and some glitter on the candy cane because you have to have sparkle with Christmas.

Here is a closer look at Miki all ready to celebrate the holiday season.

So that's what I came up with, I'd love to know what you think. Please visit my wonderful DT team-mates to see all the fab ideas that they have all come up with, I know they will be worth the visit, and why not give the challenge a go for yourself, you can find all the details on the Sew Many Cards Blog and Angela will announce on their what you could be lucky enough to win if your card/project is chosen. While you are there don't forget to check out the Freebie Friday section and if you would like some of these cute little guys 'n' gals to come to your house then you can find them all HERE patiently waiting for you.

Thanks again to everyone who takes the time to visit my blog and for all you kind comments, I'll be back again as soon as I can.

Edwin's day at the beach

Hi Everyone

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days but I'm feeling really under the weather (I think I'm coming down with my first dose of flu for the autumn season) and I'm trying to get all the last minute things done before the girls go back to school on Monday.

I'm really hoping my hubbie doesn't decide to check out my blog while at work because the card I have for you today is actually his birthday card! Hopefully the first time he will see it is when he gets home and finds the envelope with it in on his pillow! That's if he's not too tired after a 12 hour night shift!

I usually find making him a birthday card really hard but thanks to Magnolia it was easier this year. As soon as I saw Surf Edwin in the Lazy Summer Collection I knew I had to buy it to use for him. Before we were married my DH was into waveskiing and although Edwin has a surfboard I thought it would be close enough to be able to make him a card in a theme appropriate to him. I coloured Edwin with my Copic markers and used some co-ordinating papers from a Diecuts with a View Stack (I couldn't believe it when I bought this stack and found surfboards in it! When I ordered it from QVC all I could see of it was the stack cover but being a DCWV lover I had to have it anyway) I finished the card with some Making Memories Twistel in Natural (Sorry I'm not sure if they still make it anymore)

Here is a closer look at Edwin all ready for a day at the beach

Well that's it for this post, off to try and get some sleep before the girls get up and it's back to finishing off new school supplies.

Thank you to everyone who has left me so many lovely comments, I promise when I feel a little better I will visit all of your blogs too, 'Speak' to you all again soon.

I've been chosen!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I've just received an email telling me that I been chosen to be a part of the KLM Designs DT! I am so amazed and pleased - I can't quite believe it! I just cannot wait to start working with them and their wonderful images. I would also like to give my congrats to the other new DT members.

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that visits my blog for taking the time to visit me and also a huge thank you to everyone that leaves me a comment , they all mean so much to me and I make sure that I read everyone of them - you are all so kind and encouraging.

So just for that I have a card for today's post too

Today I chose to use another one of the beautiful Magnolia stamps, her name is Relaxing Tilda and as usual (currently) I coloured her with my Copic markers. I chose to use some papers from the Diecuts with a View Glitter stack and finished the card with some grosgrain ribbon from Dovecrafts Smirk range, a Woodware border punch and some Prima flowers with some adhesive back pearls in the centre (I coloured two of the purple with my copics).

Here is a closer look at Tilda having some quiet time.

I really love all the Magnolia stamps and was so pleased when my Fall Kit arrived in the post today, now I have six more little cuties to play with. If, like me, you are a fan of all things Magnolia then why not check out the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog and the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group you will find so much inspiration and wonderful people that are huge fans of these fab little cutie-pies.

If you are a fan of Copics then why not check out the Copic Creations blog where you will find some great challenges and hints, tips and techniques for using with your copic markers.

Anyway I must go now and think about getting my girls off to bed, 'speak' to you again soon.

KLM Designs DT Call

Hi Everyone

Yes I know I've gone from posting once in a blue moon to more than once a day! The cards for this post are ones I made for my application to be a part of the KLM Designs DT. They are another digital stamp company and their products are fab, you can find them KLM Designs , so please go and take a look.

So here are the cards I made, I know a lot of the DT calls ask for your favorite cards but I wanted to make new ones so that I didn't keep putting the same projects on my blog.

This first card uses an image from a company called Digital Designs by Louby Loo , this little girl is called Maggie May and I coloured her with my Copic markers. I then used papers from a K & Company pad (sorry I don't know the name) and finished the card with satin ribbon, Kaisercraft flowers coloured with copics to match and a glue rub on from Papermania that I added doodlebug bonbon glitter to.

Here is a closer look at Maggie May

For my second card I used one of my beautiful Magnolia stamps called Tilda with Umbrella, she has again been coloured with copic markers - I chose colours that were in the traditional Welsh costume as she reminded me of that. I used papers from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad and finished her with some mother of pearl flowers (coloured with copics) attached with brads and some satin ribbon from my stash.

Here is a close up of Tilda

For this card I use one of the digital designs that I discovered recently that The Greeting Farm sells, her name is Catcher Anya. I used my Copic markers to add colour to her and used papers from a Diecuts with a View stack. I finished the project with some swirl stamps inked with versamagic ink - the stamps are from Hot off the Press and Papermania's Marie Curie special set, some rhinestones and some satin ribbon from my stash.

Here is a closer look at this cute little girl.

For this card I used an image from S2G - Shirleys 2 Girls and her name is Gracie Original. I coloured her with my copic markers and used papers from K & Company's birthday paper pad. To complete the card I used some ribbon from my stash.

Here is a close up of Gracie,

For my final card I used an image from KLM called Back to School, of course it is coloured with my copics, I used some K & Company school papers for the card and finished it with a diecut from one of my sizzex sizzlet dies.

Here is the close up of the back to school image.

Well that is the cards I came up with, I really hope that they like them as I'm so enjoying working with digi stamps and I would love to work with their images on a regular basis.

Just quickly I thought I would let you know that I've heard from Club Anya and I was unsuccessful in their DT Call, but as I said previously I had a feeling the competition would be high.

Anyway that's it for this post, 'speak' to you all again soon.

Sewn Together DT Challenge #2

Hi Everyone

Well it's that time of week again for the Sew Many Cards DT Challenge. Our challenge this week was to create a card or projects with a Halloween image using any/all of the following colours - purple, yellow, neutral (black does not count, white does count), pink & red. So this is the card I created

I decided to use the Zebra called Zee who has decided to be a ghost and coloured him with my copic markers. For the papers I printed them from a Crafters Companion CD-Rom set called Occasions because it is really hard to find halloween prducts in the UK, I was to pleased to find halloween on the disk set. I finished the card with diecut cardstock using some Quickutz dies that I had and added some satin ribbon for texture.

Here is a close up of Zee all ready to celebrate the spooky season.

So now it is your turn to take the challenge, please check out all the rules on the Sew Many Cards blog and if your card is chosen then you could win some of these really cute little characters. Don't forget to check out all my other team mates creations, I'm sure they will be fab. While mentioning digi stamps Angela from Sew Many Cards has just created a forum that is for crafters that love Digi stamps so why not check that out too while you are at the Sew Many Cards Blog.

Anyway thats it for this post, 'speak' to you again soon

Digital Ink Design Team Call

Hi Everyone

Today I have some cards for you that I made for my application to be a part of the Digital Ink Design Team, they are a digital stamp company and they have some fab images on their blog site Here
This first card uses a digital image from Digital Designs by Louby Lou, you can find their blog Here, this image is called Birthday Ridley, I coloured him with me copic markers and used some papers from a Hot off the Press Cardmakers pad for the background. To finish the card I added some flowers from Kaisercrafts and some organza ribbon from my stash

For my second card I used a image from Digital Ink called Handyman, once again I used my Copic markers to colour the image and the background papers are also available from Digital Ink. I then added diecuts that I made from some sizzex sizzlets dies that I had and finished it with a sticker greeting

I really hope that Digital Ink like my cards and that I am lucky enough to me asked to be a part of their design team, I really am enjoying working with digi stamps it is so nice to have your stamps available in any size you need for your project.
Anyhow thats it for this post I'll be back later today with the next Sewn Together Challenge card.
