Oriental samples

Hi everyone

What a few days I've been having. I finally got my magazine submission finished and posted off and while I was doing that a request came in from the team at My Craft Studio to do some last minute samples for them for a show this week so I had to stop work on my submission and get those done asap. For one of the first times I was actually happy with the way the samples came out which is pretty unusual for me, my hubbie nearly died of shock when I said I liked them to him, he is so used to me saying 'oh well they'll do!' . Even cards I send to family members are never something I'm happy with, perhaps I'm finally not giving myself such a hard time about them.

I thought today I'd put on some pictures of samples I made from the Everything Oriental My Craft Studio, as in the UK oriental is still a huge favorite.

For this first one I printed the image onto parchment and the treated the project as if it was any other parchment craft project. I embossed the image and added colour to the back with pencils, them I used my pricking board to make a pattern around the sides and finally cut the crosses etc with my parchment scissors.

This card is actually a wiper card. For the decoupage image I printed out four identical size pictures and then traced the image with my embossing pen and added detail black embossing powder to make the image look more like a stamped image. I then used my twinkling h2o paints to colour the image. I made the backing papers using the my craft studio programme.

Well that's it for this post, I'm off to work on some other potential work leads. 'Speak to you again soon'
