The Character Cafe – Witches Brew Challenge

Hi Everyone

This will be my last weekly challenge as a member of the Character Cafe Design Team, unfortunately I’ve had to leave the team due to a conflict of interests now that I am part owner of a different Digi stamp company.

Our challenge this week is hosted my Piali and she set us a Recipe challenge with a difference – to make a card using Halloween papers but not make it a traditional Halloween card but for another occasion instead and it had to be glittery too

So here is the card that I came up with

fairy belle card For my card I used one ot their older images called Fairy Belle and coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils and blended them with Sansodor (UK Gamsol) then I added some clear Sakura Glitter pen over some areas. The papers are from a Diecuts with a View kit that I purchased from QVCUK. To finish the card I cut out my greeting with my ‘Girls are Weird’ Sizzlet dies and covered them with glitter glue, the spiders are cut with a Quickutz die and the legs have been glittered with a Sakura glitter pen and I added some grosgrain and organza ribbon.

fairy belle close up Here is a closer look at Fairy Belle – please mind the colouring though as I’m still trying to get the hang of the Prismacolor pencils!!!

So that’s my take on the challenge, why not visit the other Design Team members and see what they came up with!! their blog links are in my sidebar.

Papertake Weekly Challenge – with The Character Cafe

Hi Everyone

So we have reached Friday again which means it is time for another challenge using the new October releases from The Character Cafe. As previously explained the Design Team members are split into two groups, one group partake in a challenge hosted by a DT member and the other group find a challenge from blogsville to take part in.

For this week I am one of the group doing a challenge from anywhere on the internet – so I have chosen a sketch challenge from Papertake Weekly. You can find all the details and the sketch on their blog.

snowman card I decided for my card to use the new Snowman digi stamp. I coloured him with my copic makers and used some matching colours of paper from Diecuts with a View. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon and some meta snowflakes attached with brads.

snowman close up Here is a closer look at the snowman.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Design Team’s blogs to see what they came up with for this week.

That’s it for this post

The Character Cafe - Feature Friday Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone

Every Friday the members of The Character Cafe either look for a challenge in blogsville to take part in using one of the amazing Character Cafe images or we are a part of a challenge hosted by one of the team - this week I am a part of the team that is being hosted by Diane at The Character Cafe Blog. The challenge she set us was a sketch challenge using the sketch below.
So I decided to use another one of the images that was released at the beginning of October called Dayzee. Having two daughters I knew this image would be so useful and an image that I could have fun with colour on. Once again I chose to use my faber castell pencils and sansador (UK gamsol) instead of my copics. My papers are from a Provocraft Rob n Bob paper pack and I finished the card with some organza ribbon, faux gems in a flowers shape and finally a Making Memories metal sentiment.
So that is my take on Dianes sketch, if you want to find out more about this challenge then please visit the Character Cafe Blog and also why not visit my fellow Design team members - Diane, Heather, Sara, Angie and Piali are all on the team with me that worked on Dianes sketch and Fink, Sarabeth, Deanne, Rachel, Lola and Billie will have creations that are from challenges in blogsville - Please visit them all! They are amazingly talented ladies and you will love what you find on their blogs.

If you need any of the images used by the Design Team then why not visit the Character Cafe Store!
Well that's it for the post - 'speak' to you again soon

Copic Colour Challenge Blog - Challenge 34

Hi Everyone

So today is challenge day for the members of The Character Cafe Design Team - half of the team have a challenge project to do to a set challenge from one of the DT members, the other half have to find a challenge in blog land and do that one. For this week I am on the team to find a challenge in blogsville and do that so I have chosen the challenge at Copics Colour Challenge As it is a colour challenge with christmas colours in mind I chose to use an image from the October new releases from The Character Cafe

My chosen image is Christmas Scamp - I adore him so much and he will be getting used for many cards for the holidays as he is so versatile! As it is a copic challenge of course I used them but as I only have the Ciao markers I had to minorly change the set colours because two of the three are not available in the Ciao markers. I picked some papers from Diecuts with a View from an old christmas set and because this is a copic colour challenge I wanted to keep the additions to the card to a minimum so all I added was some satin ribbon and some punched borders.

Here is Scamp up close - he is so cute!

While I am posting about The Character Cafe I need to announce that the winning coment from my blog for the blog hop last week is!!!!!!!!!!! - Dawn AKA CraftyKitten as decided by random.org winning number 20 - I will email Kendra & Kelly and let them know you are my blog winner, So I would think that to claim your image it would be best to contact them too through The Character Cafe Blog - congratulations Dawn!!!!!!!!!

If you love Scamp as much as I do them please visit the store and get him and perhaps some friends to follow you home!! Also could you please visit my fabulously talented team mates blogs too because the inspiration you will get from all of them will be worth the visit

So today is the first blog hop with the newly announce The Character Cafe DT. If you are following along with this hop then you should have arrived at my blog from Angie's Blog if not then you would need to go back to the start of the hop which is at The Character Cafe Store

To celebrate the new releases The Character Cafe will be having 30% off all sales from Friday 2nd October to Friday 9th October and you will need to use the code OctBlogHop for this discount.

Each Design Team member will be drawing one winning name from the comments on their blog and that winner will receive the image the Design Team member worked with.

There will be a Freebie Image at the end of the Hop

Kendra & Kelly will draw one name from the comments left on The Character Cafe Blog for the Grand Prize Winner who will receive all the new releases, if the grand prize winner has already won a new image from the DT draw then they can choose one from the older images.

And finally if you post about our blog hop somewhere else then please leave a comment for Kendra & Kelly on The Character Cafe blog telling them you have done this and where you have left our info as it will earn you an extra entry in the Grand Prize Draw.

So for the Blog Hop I was given Pilgrim Petra and Turkey Tom to work with - aren't they just adorable!! I chose to colour them with my copic makers and found some matching papers from a Hot off the Press cardmakers pad. To finish the card I added some grosgrain ribbon also from Hot off the Press and some buttons from my stash that I also tied some fibres through.

Here is a closer look at Petra and Tom - I hope you like them as much as I do!!!!!!

Well that's my card for you, your next stop on this journey will be Billie's Blog
